Tammy H., Education/Client Services Coordinator (4yrs):
Tammy has always had a strong desire to work with and to advocate for the elderly. Right out of high school she worked as a nursing assistant at a home in Wisconsin . Marriage and life brought her to Oregon and an entirely different career path for awhile. For over 22 years Tammy worked as a Commercial Traffic Manager at both radio and television stations in Portland but always kept connected to elder care in one way or another by becoming a trained Ombudsmen for the State of Oregon and volunteering with different elder care opportunities during her tenure in broadcasting. She is taking classes working towards a degree in Gerontology. Tammy also was a guest on a program produced by Oregon Public Broadcasting which addressed issues surrounding caring for our elders. Being the education coordinator for No Worries is a dream come true for her as she now has the opportunity to make a difference by training caregivers to provide the absolute best care possible for the in-home setting. She also teaches the Family Caregiver Training program provided by Washington County for first time family caregivers. In her spare time she is very involved with training to become a Minister’s Assistant at her Temple , handcrafts of all types and gourmet cooking. One of her favorite sayings is, “If not you, who? If not now, when?”
